Claire Baptista, ACME
Claire graduated from Staffordshire University with a 2.1 in Business and Financial Economics in 1997 and is a Chartered Management Accountant.
Claire has over 18 years’ experience in the finance industry. She is a fund accountant for a global investment management company. Her responsibilities include the production of financial statements for a range of products, managements accounts, forecasts and other financial queries which involves overseeing and liaising with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, Investment Trust boards and company secretariat.
Stephen Howard Chappel
Stephen is acting Chairman of a property RTM (Right to Manage) Company based in East London. The RTM manages 9 blocks of privately owned flats, via a dedicated Management Company, dealing with all aspects of property management including finances and forward planning; issues resulting from changing legislation; H&S and maintenance contracts. He has vast experience in this field as he previously held the role of Finance Director of a private Surrey Estate for over 25 years.
Stephen’s professional background was in Risk Management together with hands on Operational roles covering a 33 year period. He worked for a major International Bank worldwide, including Management positions in New York and London. These roles included Senior Management of Group Trading Risk and Assistant Director of Group Audit. This was followed by a career in Consultancy managing Financial Investigation projects in several large Investment Banks both in European Cities and London.
Susan Jackson
Sue has been immersed in Education for more than 40 years. She was a successful Headteacher in the London Borough of Sutton for 14 years. This included opening a new Primary School in the borough. She then worked for the Local Authority as the Head of the Virtual School for Children Looked After by the LB of Sutton for 5 years. Sue has been a School Governor for 11 years and is currently Chair of Governors of a large Infant School. In July 2018, she completed the National College for Teaching and Leadership Chairs’ Development Programme, a year long qualification.
Paul Brione
Paul Brione was a community governor at Cheam Common Infants from 2011 to 2019 and co-chair of governors there from 2015.
He is an experienced public policy official, having worked in the Department for Business, HM Treasury and Parliament. He is currently head of international policy and strategy at the Bank of England, where he has also led the supervision of several systemic financial firms, including oversight and challenge of their risk and governance functions.
Noel McEvilly
Noel McEvilly was a governor in Cheam Common Infants and Juniors for many years. He worked in IT within banking before starting Brontide Limited where he is the managing director. Noel moved to Worcester Park in 1994 and is an active member of St Matthias Parish, is a governor in St Marys Catholic High School in Croydon, & The John Fisher School in Purley. He is also a trustee and chair of the Richard Challoner School PTA.
