Supporting Pupil Mental Health and Wellbeing
At LEO Academy Trust, we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community and beyond. We recognise how important mental health and emotional wellbeing are to our daily and future lives in just the same way as physical health .
We recognise that children’s social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) is a critical factor in their overall wellbeing and can affect their learning and achievement. We acknowledge that all children can face challenges in their lives and we strongly believe that all children have the right to be happy.
We provide an exemplary pupil SEMH offer that helps support the early identification of needs. This universal provision fosters the development of positive mental health and lifelong strategies for maintaining this. This in turn provides all children with the opportunity to reach their potential.
As part of the early identification process, we have established a robust graduated response to support the wellbeing of all pupils. This is based on three waves of support.
