Nicola Smallwood - Director of SEND

Nicola is the Director of Inclusion at LEO Academy Trust. She has worked as a SENDCo  in primary schools in a number of local authorities and currently supports the London Borough of Sutton as a cluster lead. She is passionate about enabling children to achieve their best, whilst also supporting parents and teachers in the same endeavour. She promotes early identification of need and is a staunch supporter of mental health as it relates to children with SEND. Previously she has worked as head of a literacy support service, and has trained teachers in Reading Recovery in both England and Australia. She enjoys working within, and contributing to the building of teams of strong professionals who work collaboratively.
